How does it all work?

You send us an email with your problem.  It all starts there.

Down the road we hope to offer more advanced collaboration tools but the things we have available work just fine for now. 

Just send an email and descriobe the problem you are trying to solve.  Did your cost just jump 40%? Did you lose customers because your technology failed when you needed it most? Did your provider drop the ball  and stop investing in good support? Thats why were here.

Dont be short on the detail but dont provide confidential information. We will keep anything you note as confidential but Alternate bid works best when we can offer your problem and solution to others - so we encourage you to offer what you can.  We will separaet your identity from your problem for you - everything we do will refer to a generic customer with an issue. Unless you request it - we leave your name out.

So how does Alternate bid make money if you dont charge for your advice? 

We make money in several ways:

1. We take donations from our patrons.  You can send us a dollar or 10,000. Its always appreciated.  If the advice works out there is no better way to say thank you but we will leave that to you.
2. We are building a network of companies that want to be part of the solution. We will recommend a company as part of a service.  Companies that offer goods and services that fit your needs will pay us a fee for the recommendation.  Regardless of the fee if the company does a bad job or provides poor services based on our sole judgement - we will restrict them from future contributions and not recommend them. We find that most companies are filled with good poeple doing their best however - so we dont expect this to be a frequent problem. If you have a product or service that you think should be featured on Alternate bid -you can ask us to write an alternative blog just for you - and that will be featured for no less than 6 months from intial offering. Terms are always negotiable - feel free to reach out.

Okay so how do I know you are not just recommending people and products that pay you?  

Trust is an important part of giving advice and we want to be your trusted source for good tech alternatives.  We can only acknowledge that we see that problem and will never recommend someone soley on basis of pay.  If the fit does not work, you wont likely come back. We think that problem solves itsself. Good help is hard to find, success is contagious.
